Agartala: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath waded into the mud Tuesday. He joined local cultivators for a paddy plantation drive in Gajaria village, located in Mohanpur. The event brought together Agriculture Department officials and a crowd of farmers to promote scientific and sustainable growing methods.
Nath labored alongside the workers to emphasize that farming anchors Tripura's economy. He pushed for the adoption of high-quality seeds, new techniques, and scientific practices to drive up yields and personal income. The minister insisted that food security depends on the work done in these fields.
Government assistance now includes training, modern machinery, better seeds, and financial aid to keep the sector profitable. Nath highlighted the human element of the mission. "The fragrance of the soil, feet covered in mud, and the genuine smiles of our farmers make this an unforgettable experience. Our farmers are the true architects of our food security. Standing beside them, recognizing their hard work, and making agriculture more prosperous is our collective responsibility," he said.
Farmers at the event cheered the gesture. They hope these field visits continue. Increased engagement could speed up the spread of advanced farming tools across the state.
