Tizit Officials Ban Heavy Trucks on Zangkham Road

Kohima: Tizit officials are shutting down the ISC Road to heavy traffic. The ban hits Zangkham village starting July 5. Additional Deputy Commissioner C Phuniang issued the order to stop the road from falling apart further. It is a safety play.

The route is currently in bad shape. Phuniang stated that the restriction aims "to prevent further damage to the road and ensure public safety." The ban stays in place until repair crews finish their work or the monsoon rains stop, whichever comes first.

Local authorities will keep a close watch on the route. They might change the rules later if the road condition shifts. For now, heavy vehicles need to find another way.
