Three Die in Deadly Shillong Bypass Crash

Shillong: Three young men died Monday night in a wreck on the Shillong Bypass. Their scooter slammed into the back of a stationary truck near the Umroi football ground around 8:30 pm. The crash killed all three instantly.

The victims lived in Umden Umsaitprah village. Police from the Khapmara Investigation Centre arrived shortly after to process the scene. They shifted the bodies to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post-mortem procedures. Authorities have yet to release the names of the victims.

The investigation remains ongoing. As officials work to identify the deceased, a local source noted that "all three youths, whose identities had not been officially established at the time of filing this report, succumbed to their injuries on the spot."
