Students Compete in Kohima Essay Contest for Cooperative Week

Kohima: Students from five Kohima schools gathered at the RCS Office Complex in Meriema on June 30 to pen essays for Cooperative Week. The event aimed to teach local youth about how the cooperative movement builds stronger communities. Thirty-one participants represented Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Northfield School, G. Rio Higher Secondary School, Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, and T.M. Government Higher Secondary School.

The competition centered on the theme "Cooperatives for a Peaceful World: Strengthening Communities through Cooperation, Inclusiveness and Sustainable Development." Joint registrar Bokato Hesso stated the event pushed the message of economic justice and social harmony. This contest fell under the wider Cooperative Week schedule running from June 29 to July 6.

Judges are still reviewing the entries. Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav will hand out the prizes at Lok Bhavan on July 3.
