Gangtok: The Sikkim government has lifted the odd-even traffic restrictions for private vehicles across all districts, excluding Gangtok town. This decision follows a review by the Home Department, which confirmed that fuel reserves have stabilized to meet state requirements.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department reported that sufficient buffer stocks of petrol and diesel are now available. Based on these findings, the government issued an amendment to the May 14 order that initially limited vehicle movement to manage fuel shortages.

While the regulation is revoked elsewhere, drivers within Gangtok must continue to follow the odd-even system established in October 2024. Additionally, existing restrictions on government vehicles remain active. Authorities stated that they will continue to monitor fuel supplies and consumption patterns to ensure long-term stability throughout the state.
