Gangtok: Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur has pledged his full support for the proposed Yuksam-Legship highway. The assurance followed a briefing from Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba regarding the state-led project, which aims to boost regional connectivity and infrastructure development.

This announcement occurred during the first day of the Governor's three-day tour of the Gyalshing district. Accompanied by Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister T.T. Bhutia, Mathur also spent time at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Labing to meet with students, teachers, and education officials.

During the school visit, the Governor addressed concerns about campus facilities. Students and staff reported a critical need for a playground and an ambulance to serve the institution. Mathur confirmed that these requests will be handled as a priority. He also took the opportunity to dine with the students and discuss their daily experiences, academic progress, and hostel living conditions.

The ongoing district tour serves as a platform for the Governor to evaluate local developmental challenges and maintain direct communication with community members and state institutions.
