Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang inaugurated a new STEM laboratory and a 10-metre indoor shooting range at the Chief Minister's Model School in Assam Lingzey on Saturday. The opening coincided with the school's first Foundation Day, a milestone the Chief Minister celebrated alongside Director Col. Ujjwal Khatiwada, staff, students, and parents.

The newly opened STEM lab aims to foster innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving through hands-on learning. Meanwhile, the shooting range serves to cultivate discipline and competitive talent among students. These additions reflect the government's commitment to equipping the school with modern resources to support holistic development.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister outlined his vision for an education system that attains world-class standards by 2047. He emphasized that the institution should serve as a model for scientific temper, environmental awareness, and value-based learning. The goal is to provide equal opportunities for all students, including those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Chief Minister urged the entire school community to work together to strengthen the education system. He encouraged students to leverage these new resources with hard work and determination, noting that the state is committed to ensuring academic success for every child.
