Gangtok: Mahendra P Lama, economic advisor to the Sikkim government, will head to Myanmar this month. He joins three other Indian experts to lead a lecture series on federalism and constitutional governance. The talks kick off in Naypyitaw on July 16.

The three-day event runs through July 18. It falls under the oversight of Myanmar’s National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiations Committee with help from the Centre for Peace and Reconciliation. The delegation includes Samatha Mallempati, Pinaki Chakraborty, and Pradeep Chandran Nair.

The Indian Embassy in Yangon confirmed the details in a July 7 communication. They asked the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs to "facilitate a gratis visa-on-arrival" for the group. The delegates plan to land in Yangon by July 15. The mission aims to bolster ongoing policy work on peace-building between the two nations.
