Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival Secures Permanent Home

Shillong: Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival moves to a permanent home. The event hits the newly established New Shillong Highland Grounds on November 20 and 21, 2026. The Meghalaya government handed over the space to host concerts and large-scale festivals.

Organizers confirmed three headliners: R&B-pop singer Khalid, rapper Swae Lee, and pop-punk band Boys Like Girls. Two more international acts join the bill soon, bringing the total to five. Khalid brings his Grammy-nominated catalog, while Swae Lee and Boys Like Girls round out the current list. Venue preparations delayed the lineup announcement, but production teams have now cleared the path forward.

The Highland Grounds site sits 30 minutes from Shillong. It promises better access for fans driving from Assam, Jowai, and across Meghalaya. The government plans to roll out a strict traffic and mobility scheme for the weekend, featuring dedicated parking and multiple exit points. The organizers noted, "The 2025 edition featured international acts including Jason Derulo, The Script, Tyga, Diplo, Nora Fatehi and Aqua."

Tickets go live September 4 at 6 p.m. exclusively at RockskiTickets.com. Single-day passes cost Rs 2,500 including all taxes. Organizers claim this pricing structure makes the festival an affordable draw for music fans.
