Security Forces Apprehend NSCN-K Insurgent in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: A joint task force of the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police arrested a member of the NSCN-K AngMai faction in the Tirap district on Friday. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old local resident Longsom Losu, was taken into custody following intelligence reports detailing the movement of an underground operative in the area.

During the search, authorities recovered a 7.65 mm pistol along with a magazine and 10 live rounds of ammunition. Officials confirmed the arrest serves as part of broader security efforts to curb rebel activities across the region, where authorities have recently apprehended several members of various underground organizations.

Regarding the ongoing security strategy, an official stated, "Counter-insurgency operations against the rebel outfit have been going on in the region. We are taking all types of measures to contain insurgency in the region."
