Food options are also expanding. Officials expect a retail eating joint to open at the site shortly. These upgrades offer some relief to commuters who have faced a lack of basic services for years.
Airport users still want more. Travelers are pushing for the introduction of a prepaid taxi service and better transit links between the airport and Shillong city.
