Shillong: A scooter crash injured two people near the Fire Brigade in Laitumkhrah on Tuesday evening. Lucky Son Khongsit, 23, hit pedestrian Jedan Marbaniang around 7 pm. Medics at Woodland Hospital treated them for minor abrasions. SP Hari Prasanth confirmed the results. “The pedestrian and the rider suffered only minor abrasions. Their medical reports were found to be normal,” the SP said.
Meanwhile, the Gorkha Public Sangathan marked its Foundation Day at Madanrting. Community leaders and youth gathered to focus on preserving Gorkha heritage. The group claims the contractor used cheap materials that peel away like a loose carpet. They want an investigation into financial misconduct and a formal FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
