Road Closure Extended on Naharlagun Station Route Through October

Itanagar: Commuters face another month of delays in Papum Pare district. The road stretch from the Railway Bridge at Lekhi/Borum to the tri-junction near Borum Railway Station remains off-limits to traffic. The Assistant Commissioner of Itanagar Capital Complex extended the total closure through October 30, 2026. This order, first signed on September 30, keeps the site clear for heavy construction crews.

Kenge Construction is handling the work. They are pouring cement and widening the road from the Borum tri-junction up to the Railway Bridge near Arunodaya University. Workers at the site want the job done fast. Kenge Construction officials stated, "public cooperation is essential for completing the project without further delay."

Drivers heading from the Railway Station toward Lekhi or Nirjuli must divert through the Galo Heritage Gate, the Galo Heritage Ground, and the Railway Bridge. Those coming from Lekhi toward the station or Borum face a different path. They need to drive through the Railway Bridge tri-junction, pass the Concrete Mixer Plant and Borum Community Hall, then take Stadium Road.

Local officials insist drivers follow these detours. The road remains closed to all unauthorized vehicles to ensure safety and keep the project moving.
