Residents in Bichom District Demand Urgent Start on Arunachal Frontier Highway

Itanagar: Local leaders and residents in the Nedo and Lada circles of Bichom district are calling for the immediate commencement of earth-cutting work on the Arunachal Frontier Highway. The demand focuses on the stretch spanning from 9th Mile to the Lada and Nedo area, which forms a vital portion of the infrastructure project.

Zilla Parishad Member Kalley Rijuju, supported by local Gram Panchayat representatives, highlighted the growing frustration over project delays. Residents maintain that the highway is a strategically significant development essential for boosting regional connectivity. Rijuju warned that the public is prepared to act if the government and contractors continue to stall.

"If the concerned authorities and contractors fail to initiate the project at the earliest, the local residents would be compelled to launch democratic agitations to protect their developmental interests," Rijuju stated. Authorities are now being urged to expedite the implementation of the construction to satisfy the area's development needs and avoid upcoming public protests.
