Residents Fuming as New Assam Transformer Sits Idle

Guwahati: A 25 kVA transformer stands useless in Kaliabor. It has sat silent for three months. The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited installed the unit to fix chronic low-voltage issues hitting Bamuni Pathar and Bamuni Gaon. A local MLA pushed for the fix. The power is still off.

Locals blame the APDCL and the contractor for the stall. They claim the equipment sits idle because of a lackadaisical attitude. This failure ruins their hopes for a reliable grid. The residents voiced their frustrations clearly: "Residents have expressed dissatisfaction over the delay and alleged that the transformer has remained unused due to the lackadaisical attitude of APDCL and the contractor concerned."

Families living in the two villages remain stuck with the same old power problems. They want action now. Villagers demand that the authorities flip the switch and stabilize their supply immediately.
