Kohima: Pughoboto officials plan to honor top workers. The Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board approved a Best Employee Award during their July 2 meeting. A committee featuring leaders from the Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho will pick the winner. Department heads must send in their nominations by August 5, 2026.
Local infrastructure faces trouble. Heavy rain wrecked the Pughoboto to Ghathashi Road. Officials banned heavy trucks from the path to keep people safe. Only light vehicles and essential transport may use the route for now.
Internet problems are stalling the latest census. SDO Civil Yitachu Thurr noted that power cuts kill connectivity. The board plans to lean on telecom providers to fix the dropouts. Dr. Sukhato A. Sema MLA led the session alongside new ADC James T. Khulu.
The board also heard a pitch on the RAMP program to boost local small businesses. Functional Manager Hekato K. Jimo pushed for better credit access. He explained the program goals: "strengthening MSMEs through finance, technology, market linkages and capacity building."
The group will meet again on July 15. They need to lock in plans for Independence Day celebrations. Power department officials will take the floor at the next session.
