Guwahati: Police stopped a truck in Jatinga, Dima Hasao, halting a shipment of illicit booze. The vehicle was headed for Mizoram. Acting on a tip, a team led by DySP Bitu Baishya moved in at the Haflong Police Station jurisdiction. They found 16 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor stashed inside the truck.
Officers arrested one man from Kamrup (Rural) district on the scene. The booze lacked the required paperwork for transport. Investigators are now tracking where the liquor originated and who else is tied to the scheme. "Further details are awaited as the investigation continues," police stated.
