Police Arrest Two Men in Assam Drug Bust

Guwahati: Police busted two suspected drug peddlers in Assam’s Moran area yesterday. Officers from the Moranhat Police Station intercepted the men at Tiloijan Oufulia Tiniali on the Moran-Naharkatia road after receiving a reliable tip. It was a clean hit.

The suspects are Dipjyoti Das from Sivasagar and Biswajit Mahan from Chepan. Authorities recovered 15.91 grams of a substance believed to be contraband covered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Moranhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Dipjyoti Sonowal led the operation under the watch of senior officials. The suspects are now in custody. Police are currently interrogating them to find the source of the stash and map out the local supply network. “The two accused have been taken into police custody and are being questioned to ascertain the source of the suspected drugs and gather information about the alleged supply network,” police stated.
