Police Arrest Two and Seize Marijuana in Moran Drug Raid

Guwahati: Moran police arrested two individuals and confiscated more than one kilogram of marijuana during a surprise operation near the Moran Medical Centre. Officers acted on intelligence reports to intercept the suspects, who were found with 1,026 grams of the illicit substance.

The arrested men are Abhi Ekka and Rajiv Kalkumar. Both reside in the Bhogpara village of the Dibrugarh district. During the arrest, police also seized the scooter the men were using, which bears the registration number AS 33 5958, along with a mobile phone.

Authorities have opened a formal case to determine where the drugs originated and where they were intended to be sold. Investigators are currently working to identify other potential members of the trafficking network. Local community members have expressed support for the police efforts to curb narcotics activity in the region.
