Kohima: PenThrill hit a major milestone. The publisher released its 125th book, Homesick for another world, on the evening of September 17. Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor to School Education and SCERT, launched the collection at the Nagaland State Guest House in New Delhi. The book features poetry by Themreichon Leisan.
Dr. Yhome noted that tribal youth are increasingly moving to cities for work and school. He believes this creates a unique sense of displacement. The poetry collection, he remarked, "is therefore a new genre of cultural memories that articulates lived and personal experiences with artistic expressions." He expects more writing like this to emerge soon.
Leisan hails from Ukhrul, Manipur. She holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi. The former teacher now works and resides in New Delhi. She writes stories inspired by her surroundings and crafts book reviews. Regarding the work, Leisan said the "book exists because of many quiet pushes" and noted it belongs to those who helped her maintain her capacity to feel.
Publisher Vishü Rita Krocha noted that Leisan is the fifth author from Manipur featured by the house. The book's blurb describes the poems as an intimate dialogue between tradition and selfhood. The verses explore themes of resilience, love, and longing while highlighting the strength of women.
