Kohima: The Naga People’s Front slammed the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups this Monday. They rejected claims that the party blocked the Gaon Bura Federation from meeting the Prime Minister. The NPF labeled these accusations baseless and false.
The party also denied playing any part in the exit of former interlocutor RN Ravi. They stated that New Delhi makes those decisions alone. The NPF argued that Gaon Buras should stick to village duties instead of meddling in high-level politics. The party insists that the Indo-Naga issue requires unity rather than internal infighting.
Political leaders want a ministerial-rank negotiator appointed to handle talks. This demand surfaced during a September meeting with tribal bodies and civil society. The NPF noted that resource disputes like oil exploration require constitutional processes, not political grandstanding. They warned against using sensitive border issues for short-term gains.
Violence in Manipur remains a major concern for the group. Six Nagas recently died in regional attacks. The NPF urged freedom fighters to focus on protecting civilians and property. They stated that "political dialogue must go hand in hand with real security" for the average citizen.
The party called for respect among all political groups and church organizations. They finished their statement with a sharp warning for those sowing discord. "History remembers those who built bridges, not those who created divisions," the NPF wrote. They maintain a push for an inclusive and honorable political solution.
