Aizawl: Mizoram officials launched a new inter-state bus link on Tuesday. Two 21-seater buses will run daily between Sairang and Lamka starting October 1. The service aims to bridge the gap between the two states.
PWD Minister Vanlalhlana flagged off the vehicles at the Transport Office in Chaltlang. Also present were H. Ginzalala, adviser to the Chief Minister, state transport officials, and VK Tawna Travels representatives. VK Tawna Travels will manage the daily operations.
Travelers can book seats using the VK Tawna Bus Service mobile app. Vanlalhlana believes the route will help people facing hardship due to the ethnic conflict in Manipur. He hopes the buses bring communities together. Ginzalala pointed out that infrastructure remains a major pillar of growth. He noted that the regional crisis has forged a deeper bond between Mizoram residents and their Zo brethren in Manipur.
Ginzalala issued a clear message to future passengers during the ceremony. "He also urged travellers to uphold Mizoram's reputation for respecting law and order and encouraged people to promote constructive exchanges between the two states," he said.

The buses will cover the 360-kilometer route between Sairang and Lamka in approximately 12 hours. Passengers will pay a flat fare of Rs 2,500 per seat.
Vanlalhlana described Mizoram as a central home for its kindred communities, noting that the new link aims to boost social and cultural interaction across the hill regions.
