NEDFi Loan Sanctions Top Rs 977 Crore in Fiscal Year

Kohima: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited pushed Rs 977.42 crore in loans during the 2025-26 fiscal year. This jump from the previous year’s Rs 882.98 crore brings the company’s total lifetime sanctions to Rs 10,091.80 crore. NEDFi management confirmed these figures at the 31st Annual General Meeting held in Guwahati on September 29.

Cash flow remains healthy. Gross income climbed 4.40 percent to hit Rs 270.82 crore. Interest income saw a sharper 9.73 percent rise to reach Rs 214.94 crore. After the books closed, the firm recorded a Rs 127.77 crore profit before tax, with a net profit of Rs 92.23 crore. The Board of Directors now recommends a 7 percent dividend.

Debt management improved significantly. Gross non-performing assets dropped to 1.71 percent from 1.88 percent in 2024-25. Meanwhile, the active loan portfolio swelled to Rs 2,269.05 crore, up from Rs 2,019.50 crore. The corporation has now backed 34,327 individual projects.

Venture funding also gained traction. The North East Venture Fund, backed by the Ministry of DoNER and SIDBI, currently supports 70 start-ups. Combined with the Manipur Start-up Venture Fund and the NRL Ideation Angel Fund, the firm committed over Rs 33 crore to high-potential ventures. Looking ahead, the corporation intends to focus on "sustainable and inclusive growth" by expanding credit access to underserved areas.

Community support remains a priority. NEDFi spent the year training 1,291 beneficiaries in various trades. They also helped 4,525 artisans sell their work through trade fairs and company showrooms. Chairman and Managing Director PVSLN Murty thanked stakeholders, citing their ongoing trust as a driver for these results.
