Nagaland University Researchers Propose New Ethical AI Governance Model

Kohima: A global research team led by Nagaland University has released a new framework for managing Artificial Intelligence. It moves past simple regulation. The study links AI governance with long-term organizational health and environmental care. They want to boost trust and accountability on digital platforms.

The findings appeared in the journal NESciences under doi: 10.28978/nesciences.261029. Researchers gathered data from 185 managers, sustainability officers, and AI specialists. These experts work in industries relying on AI-driven environmental and digital systems.

Co-authors include Mohammed Shamsul Hoque of Southeast University, R. Vasanthan of Nagaland University, and Khriereizhunuo Dzuvichu from the Central University of Tamil Nadu. Olga Glukhova from Rostov State University of Economics and P. Shanmuga Sundari from SRM Institute of Science and Technology also contributed.

Nagaland University Vice-Chancellor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik noted the need for oversight. He stated, "As AI increasingly influences decision-making processes across sectors, it is imperative that technological advancement is guided by ethical principles, institutional accountability, and long-term sustainability goals."

R. Vasanthan explained the goals of the project. He said the work offers a practical guide for policymakers and industrial leaders to design responsible strategies. The team intends to help firms improve performance while maintaining social responsibility.
