Kohima: Census officials met with Nagaland police brass at the Kohima headquarters to map out the 2027 census. The team laid out the administrative framework and the massive deployment plan for the upcoming count.
Chief Secretary leads the State Census Committee. Home Commissioner acts as the state nodal officer. The state has already lined up 6,100 officials across 157 charge officers to canvas every town and village.
The agency is ditching old paper methods for a high-tech approach. Dr. Kenei Miachieo, director of Census Operations Nagaland, explained the new digital tools. He noted, "the exercise will utilise a dedicated mobile application for data collection, high resolution satellite imagery for mapping, and a real time monitoring system to ensure efficient implementation."
Senior officers including Vikhosa Chakhesang and Videlalie sat in on the briefing. AIG Wati Jamir thanked the team for the presentation. The visiting crew included Er. Asono Mor from the IT department and David Rhutso from Economics and Statistics.
