The Election Commission of India set October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for this Special Intensive Revision. Officials plan to publish draft electoral rolls on September 20. Residents have until October 20 to file claims or objections. Hearings and final disposal of these cases will wrap up by November 18.
Discrepancies require action. Anyone with mapping issues or roll anomalies must visit the Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer. You need your supporting documents.
District heads want everyone to participate. Administrative officers, Village Councils, Village Development Boards, Gaon Buras, and ward authorities must help. Zunheboto DC Dharam Raj noted that the active participation of all stakeholders is vital. Meanwhile, Kohima Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem scheduled a planning meeting for August 11 at 11 a.m. in the DC Conference Hall. He expects all Kohima Municipal Council members, ward chairmen, and colony leaders to attend.
The goal is simple. Clean rolls matter. DC Noklak stated that the exercise is "aimed at ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll."
