Kohima: The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum will stage a prayer rally at Khuociezie, also known as Local Ground, in Kohima. The event kicks off at 11am on September 12, 2026. The stakes are high. Organizers intend to address urgent issues affecting the Christian community across the country.
NJCF president Rev. Dr. N. Paphino and rally organizing committee convenor Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao stated the event aims to provide guidance regarding religious liberty. Specifically, the group plans to address the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and freedom of conscience as it relates to Vande Mataram. The forum released a statement saying the rally was organized to "address challenges faced by Christians in the country and to pray for guidance on issues concerning religious liberty and freedom of conscience."
Church leaders, pastors, and local believers from Kohima and nearby regions are urged to show up. For those who cannot make the trip to the ground, the NJCF requested they offer personal or congregational prayers to support the cause.
