Kohima: MP S Supongmeren Jamir demanded tighter teamwork between departments to boost project delivery in Chümoukedima. As chairperson of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee, he led a review of ongoing work at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on July 2.
Jamir steered the meeting to track department targets. He identified implementation snags and pushed for real solutions. Government aid must reach every person. He noted, "The purpose of the DISHA committee was to strengthen governance and improve service delivery rather than oppose any department or the state government."
The committee scrutinized status reports from Agriculture, Rural Development, and Public Health departments. Officials tackled urban infrastructure headaches. They focused on sanitation, waste management, and water stress. Members proposed new rainwater harvesting and drainage systems to stop flooding.
Accuracy is everything. Jamir ordered officials to keep precise records of their work to better track progress. He also pressed the Labour Department to ramp up awareness efforts for eSHRAM registration and welfare cards. Success depends on everyone working together.
