Kohima: Mokokchung officials gathered at the deputy commissioner’s hall on July 3 to kick off the People’s Plan Campaign. They want better village plans. The meeting focused on preparing the Gram Panchayat Development Plan for 2026-27.
Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma led the session. He told attendees that success depends on everyone working together. He said, "GPDP is a participatory, inclusive and convergent planning process requiring active involvement of all stakeholders."
Verma pushed line departments to share technical expertise and resources. He wants village priorities to drive every scheme. Imchatemsula Changkiri of the DRDA walked the group through a presentation on transparency and community involvement.
The departments committed to tighter coordination. Project Director Imyapangla closed the meeting by reminding the staff that while the Rural Development Department leads the effort, genuine village growth demands shared ownership from every agency involved.
