Mokokchung Hosts Skill Development Drive for Nagaland Youth

Kohima: Ao Officers Telungjem and the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission hosted a sensitisation event in Mokokchung on July 22. Held at the Town Hall, the programme focused on the theme Know your skills. Know your opportunities. It aimed to align local talent with the demands of a modern workforce.

DC Ajit Kumar Verma addressed the crowd. He highlighted the mismatch between the state's natural resources and its current production levels. Verma told the audience, "Acquiring new skills was vital to achieving the vision of a developed Nagaland and India." He pushed for proficiency in automation, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things to drive progress.

Er. Pangjungkala Longchar chaired the opening session, while Dr. Butesan Ozukum led the invocation. Imosong Imsong, the Vice President of AOT, laid out the goals of the project. Er. T. Imlisunep Ao ran the technical portion of the day. Experts from NSEDM, including Meripeni Ngullie and Nukholo Swuro, broke down changing job trends and specific training paths available to residents.

Local business owners Limamatsung and Akumtemsu joined freelancer Talirenla to share their professional journeys. The event wrapped up with a Q&A session and a final word from I. Lipokonen Jamir. Verma thanked Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen for backing the mission.
