Minister demands BSF crackdown on cattle smuggling in West Garo Hills

Shillong: Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai wants the Border Security Force to shut down cattle smuggling routes. He sent an official letter demanding immediate action following local reports about livestock being trafficked through West Garo Hills. The animals head from Assam toward the Bangladesh border.

Routes run straight through Chibinang and Tura. Smugglers then push the cattle toward Chirangpara. Reports also describe brutal treatment of these animals during transit. Shullai called the situation serious. He insisted the matter required immediate attention.

The minister urged BSF commanders to tighten border checks. He wants all outposts to hunt for smugglers. Shullai stated: "The matter required urgent attention from the BSF."

The BSF now faces pressure to break up organized smuggling rings. Officials have yet to release a statement on how they plan to stop the movement. Shullai remains confident the force will act. He expects regular updates on their progress.
