Shillong: Meghalaya officials just launched the Meghalaya Education Connect Team, or MECON, to fix broken communication lines in schools. The 14-member group aims to bridge the gap between the state government and students, parents, and teachers.
Education department heads want better coordination for ongoing reforms. Veveane Sayo leads the team, which packs in communication experts, state officials, and every District and Sub-Divisional School Education Officer. They meet weekly.
MECON will push policy updates and boost digital outreach while gathering public feedback to keep the system honest. According to the official notification, the team will act as a platform to "coordinate more effectively with students, teachers, parents, school management committees and local communities." The MPOWER group will handle all the heavy lifting for logistics and secretarial needs.
