Disaster struck Felicity halfway through her tiramisu. She realized she forgot to bring sugar. She asked last year's champion, Casey, for a single tablespoon. Casey refused. Maria watched the interaction from her station. She approached Felicity with a bowl of sugar, offering it freely despite the contest.
Felicity hesitated. She questioned why Maria would help an opponent. Maria shrugged off the concern. "We’re competing to make the best dessert," she said. "Not to stop someone else from making theirs. If I only win because someone else couldn’t finish, it wouldn’t feel like a real victory."
The competition finished. Olivia took the top spot. Maria secured second place, while Felicity failed to place. Despite the loss, Felicity approached Maria with a hug.
