Imphal: Electoral Roll Observer Robert Singh Kshetrimayum met with officials today at the Deputy Commissioner Office Complex in Thoubal. He led a review of the Special Intensive Revision 2026 process. The officer, who serves as the Commissioner and Secretary for the Government of Manipur, commanded all registration staff to keep the voter lists clean. Every eligible voter needs a spot on the list.
Kshetrimayum opened the floor to local political groups and citizens. Representatives pointed to persistent errors in voter names and the records of their family members. They also questioned the handling of duplicate entries, strict revision timelines, and voters living outside Manipur. The Observer responded to these concerns with a promise of follow-up action.
He told attendees that "all genuine grievances would be examined and addressed in accordance with the provisions and guidelines of the Election Commission of India."
District Election Officer and Thoubal DC Yumnam Robita attended the session alongside ADC Aribam Amarjit Sharma. Various EROs, AEROs, and leaders from national and state political parties rounded out the room. The team intends to keep the electoral roll inclusive under the strict rules set by the Election Commission of India.
