Manipur Chief Minister Grants Financial Aid to Ill Displaced Citizens

Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh handed out Rs 1 lakh each to 26 displaced people living at the Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camp. The residents suffer from serious conditions like kidney failure and cancer. He passed out the aid during a visit to the Manipur Trade Expo Centre in Imphal West.

The government aims to take the edge off their suffering. Many people cannot return home. Khemchand Singh said, "The government is providing financial assistance to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to enable them to find some relief during the difficult times." He promised more help will come later.

Rajya Sabha MP Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi also spoke at the event. She announced that the state will supply weaving machines and other work equipment to women living in the camp. Other officials, including MLA Sanasam Premchandra Singh and DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, joined the meeting to support the relief efforts.
