Kohima: Tzulumang Ward 4 in Mangkolemba finally has working streetlights. The Mangkolemba Town Council finished the installation on June 13, ending a decade of darkness for the area.

Councillor Limasenla Jamir oversaw the project to push public safety and ward welfare. Jamir is one of the youngest elected officials in the Mokokchung district. She also serves as the council secretary and sanitation lead.

Locals cheered the lights. They expect better visibility and safer night travel. Jamir called the project a priority for the community. She noted, "Street lighting was an essential public service that contributed to the safety, security and well-being of residents."

Jamir pledged to keep working on projects that help people in the ward. The lights mark a major shift for the neighborhood.
