Kohima: The Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) Women Department concluded its 76th annual conference on October 7, 2026. Held at the LBCA Longjüng Ekhümkho in Vankhosüng, the event drew over 250 delegates from 92 separate Lotha Baptist Churches. The two-day gathering centered on the theme "Longtsükakhong Tsüngthi Ethio Esopvüi," or Faithful, Fruitful Leaders, taken from John 15:16. Rev. Dr. Renbi Rangthang, executive secretary of the LBCA, opened the event by invoking divine blessings.
Retired Rural Development director Liboni Humtsoe pushed attendees to act as pillars for their communities. She demanded that female pastors and leaders tackle critical social failures: early marriage, drug addiction, and the ongoing struggles facing local youth. Nyanbeni Odyuo, the women secretary, spoke first. She told the crowd that "a faithful servant of the Gospel remains steadfast even in small responsibilities."
L. Meribeni Ngullie Kikon, an associate leader from Tchuphyangza Baptist Church in Wokha, led a Bible study on October 7. She argued that the church requires leaders who produce consistent fruit. Assistant professor N. Zubenthung Erui of Witter Theological College agreed. He insisted that believers must abide in Jesus to create lasting spiritual results.
The conference ended with a formal declaration. Delegates named 2027 the year of "strengthening the family and society with women as faithful and fruitful ambassadors." Organizers thanked the churches and staff for their prayers and labor, which they credited for the successful turnout.
