Jubilee Memorial College Hosts Swachhata Pakhwada Cleanup Event

Kohima: Jubilee Memorial College in Mokokchung observed Swachhata Pakhwada on Monday. The NSS unit hosted the event under the theme One Step Towards Cleanliness. My Bharat sponsored the program held at the JMC Hall. It focused on waste management and sustainable living.

The event opened with the National Anthem. The NSS Programme Officer delivered a keynote address. He pushed students to watch their daily habits. The officer stated, "Cleanliness requires consistent individual responsibility and that meaningful change begins with choices made by individuals."

College counsellor Yimnayanger Aier led the Swachhata Pledge. Six teams competed in an inter-departmental quiz led by Imtimatsung from the Political Science Department. Team 4 from Political Science took first place with 85 points. History’s Team 1 followed with 70 points. Economics’ Team 5 earned 50 points.

Twelve students joined a painting contest. Maongkala grabbed first place. Sentisotet placed second and Merenzungla took third. Faculty members Tsungrosenla Jamir, Lipokyanger Jamir, and Dr. Shisachila Imchen judged the entries. Moameren and Sashiakum performed a special song. Principal Dr. Imtiwati Jamir handed out the awards.
