Jiribam student groups lock school over teacher transfer

Imphal: Four student organizations locked the administrative block and the principal's office at Jiribam Higher Secondary School on October 14. This protest follows the sudden transfer of the school's lone computer science teacher. The facility now lacks any instruction for the subject.

AMSU, MSF, DESAM, and KSA joined forces to force government action. Meinam Rohit Singh, General Secretary of the AMSU District Committee, Jiribam, stated, "The four student organisations staged the agitation at the school to protest against the transfer of the only computer science teacher without any replacement arrangement."

The unions demand officials either cancel the transfer order or send a replacement immediately. Students suffer when schools lose vital staff. Rohit Singh warned that the current lockout will continue unless the department resolves the issue to protect student academic progress.
