Itanagar: Capital Police arrested a suspected drug peddler in Itanagar on July 23. Officers seized 9.73 grams of suspected heroin hidden inside 46 plastic vials. The raid occurred in the Mob-II area near Niti Vihar Police Station.
The Special Action Team launched the strike following specific intelligence reports. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chamrak Arun and SDPO Chera Saban led the operation. Officers tracked the suspect to his rented home. They gained proper authorization before moving in to search the premises.
Circle Officer Mary Tanyang attended the scene as the executive magistrate. Two independent witnesses watched the seizure process. It followed every legal requirement under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Police say the operation falls under their broader Operation All Out campaign. The goal is simple. "Capital Police said the operation forms part of its sustained crackdown on narcotics under Operation All Out, aimed at eliminating drug trafficking, dismantling organised drug networks and making the Capital Region drug-free."
The suspect hails from Assam. His identity remains protected for now. During questioning, the man named his Assam-based supplier. Detectives are currently hunting for this second target to break the local supply chain. Niti Vihar Police Station has filed a formal case. Investigators are digging for more leads to connect the dots in this trafficking network.
