Guwahati: Health officials swarmed a clinic at Bhagabazar Manipuri Market on July 21. The raid began around 10 am. A specialized medical team from Silchar arrived to investigate claims of illegal practice. Dr. Mrs. Chikdar, Sakat Chakraborty, and Bhagabazar Primary Health Centre in-charge Cherab Uddin led the operation alongside other department personnel.
Authorities allege Daren Sinha ran the shop for years without a valid registration or license. He reportedly posed as a doctor to treat patients despite holding no recognized medical degree. Locals complained about him selling medicine without any prescriptions. The pressure mounted after a social media video showed a child suffering complications from a botched injection. The state is now checking all documents. They want his licenses and qualifications. If the findings hold up, the law will step in.
The department maintains the case is still under investigation. "If the allegations are found to be true, legal action will be taken against the concerned individual in accordance with the law," officials stated. The probe continues as residents in the Bhagabazar area remain on edge.
