Shillong: Fuel supplies are finally flowing back into Shillong. Operators reported new consignments reaching city pumps after a tense week of uncertainty across the state. The situation began to shift on Monday when tankers cleared the recent movement restrictions to replenish local stations.
Ashok Jain, manager of the Peak Service Station at Dhankheti, confirmed his Indian Oil outlet received a fresh delivery of petrol on Monday. The facility now holds enough fuel to satisfy consumer demand. Jain told motorists they should stop worrying, stating, "there was no reason for motorists to panic as fresh supplies had arrived."
Drivers were previously on edge due to blocked petroleum shipments throughout Meghalaya. Officials expect the supply chain to remain stable as long as trucks keep moving into the city without interference.
