Kohima: Civil society groups in Dimapur are joining forces. Leaders from major tribal and civic organizations met to clear the air after recent friction. The Naga Council Dimapur and the Naga Women Hoho Dimapur spearheaded the effort to stop infighting.
The group adopted a formal resolution to settle future grievances through mandatory dialogue. They want to avoid crossing lines of authority. The document emphasizes that any issues involving tribal apex bodies or local organizations must now stay within the Naga Council mechanism. Signatories noted the goal is to stop overstepping established jurisdictions.
These leaders agreed to specific terms. They want to "strengthen cooperation and coordination on matter of common importance so that CSOs should not trespass against established authorities and mandated jurisdiction." The deal aims to keep the peace across the district.
G.K. Rengma, Y. Imlinungla, and heads from the Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation and the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed off on the plan. Other signatories included the GB Union and the Dimapur Naga Students Union. They are betting on unity to keep Dimapur stable.
