Kohima: Can Youth hosted a day-long workshop in Dimapur on June 19 to train the next generation of leaders. Held at Crete House in Police Colony, the event focused on how young people can drive transparency and accountability within the nation. The theme centered on the idea of informed youths building stronger nations.
Fifty students from across Dimapur and Chümoukedima attended the session. Participants came from various institutions including NEISSR, St. Joseph University, and Livingstone Foundation International. The day opened with an invocation from facilitator Watinaro Pongener.
Resource persons included Joshua Liezietsu from Amity University and Can Youth founder Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei. They led interactive discussions and role plays. These sessions tackled tough issues like unemployment, governance, and social integrity.
The group emphasized self-confidence and empathy. Attendees pushed for more dedicated youth spaces in schools, churches, and village councils. During the closing feedback session, participants stressed that the focus should be on practical growth. As the event wrapped up, organizers highlighted the goal of "empowering young people to become responsible leaders and active contributors to society."
