Bongaigaon Mob Attacks Madrasa Following Sexual Abuse Allegations

Guwahati: Tension exploded in Assam's Bongaigaon district on July 14. Hundreds of local residents stormed the Ishwaatul Uloom Madrasatul Banat in Malegarh to protest allegations of sexual abuse. They went after a teacher named Aminul Islam. Islam works as a maulvi at the school and lives in Lengtisinga. Neighbors claim he abused a girl student for a long time.

The crowd arrived in a fury. Men and women tore through the seminary grounds. They smashed furniture and wrecked school property. The violence left the building in ruins. The school was a target of public rage. Local police from the Jogighopa station arrived quickly. Senior district officials joined them to stop the chaos.

Authorities are now hunting for answers. They have officially opened an investigation into the accusations against the teacher. Officials did not confirm if the suspect is in custody. Police have urged the public to maintain peace while the investigation is underway. The situation remains volatile as the community waits for results.
