Barikupar Paswett Earns Doctorate from NEHU

Shillong: Barikupar Paswett earned his PhD in Folkloristics from North-Eastern Hill University in Shillong. He focused his doctoral work on the intersection of cultural traditions and environmental preservation. His thesis, titled "Khasi Folklore and Conservation of Nature: An Analytical Study," examined the historical links between local belief systems and ecological health.

Paswett completed the degree under the guidance of two primary supervisors. Prof. Desmond L. Kharmawphlang from the Department of Cultural and Creative Studies served as lead supervisor. Prof. SK Nanda acted as the joint supervisor for the project. This academic milestone marks a significant step in documenting regional heritage.
