Guwahati: The Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) landed the Top Performing State Award in the Medium State Category. Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan handed over the trophy at the PMFME Conclave in New Delhi. ASRLM State Mission Director Kuntalmoni Sarma Bordoloi accepted the honor.
The award celebrates the work of ASRLM staff, self-help groups, and local entrepreneurs. These groups drive sustainable livelihoods across the state. They process food locally to keep the economy moving. Success came through hard work on the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises scheme.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the team on X. He said, "Our @assam_rural has been functioning as a key enabler of grassroots level growth, executing key initiatives of the Double Engine Govt and benefitting people on ground. This achievement is another testament to their good work and a recognition for all the beneficiaries of PMFME."
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Atul Bora also chimed in. He tagged the win as well-deserved. Bora urged the mission to keep pushing toward a self-reliant Assam. The state government views this award as a massive win for rural women and small-scale business owners.
