Imphal: Security forces swept through Manipur this past week, hunting down insurgent supply lines. The Assam Rifles, joined by the Indian Army and Manipur Police, dragged a massive stash of weapons and explosives out of hiding. They caught three fighters in the process.

The haul includes an M16 rifle, a Type-81 rifle, four pistols, and four improvised mortars. Officers also seized 22 single-bore rifles, three shotguns, eight grenades, and plenty of ammunition. They recovered communication gear and bulletproof vests to round out the discovery. These items are now with local police.

The arrested men belong to the Kangleipak Communist Party-People’s War Group and the Revolutionary People’s Front. These groups are banned. Officials stated that these intelligence-driven operations "reaffirm the Assam Rifles' commitment to dismantling insurgent networks and ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability across the Northeast."
