This investigation follows a separate crackdown in the region. Juria Police recently caught a man named Zahur Ali, known as Pagla Baba, from Chotian in Juria. Authorities arrested him after he allegedly took money from people by promising them traditional medical treatments through intermediaries. Residents are now asking if the authorities will hold Kabiraj to the same standard. One local observer noted, "Local residents and concerned citizens have urged the police and Forest Department to look into the allegations and ascertain whether any wildlife protection laws have been violated."
