Guwahati: The Union Home Ministry set up a temporary immigration post at Hatisar in Assam. This move clears the path for Bhutanese citizens and international travelers heading to the Gelephu Mindfulness City. The site sits in the Sarpang district right on the border with Assam.

Participants are gathering for Project 108. The goal is to build 108 Jangchub Chortens, or Buddhist stupas, in one day. This massive construction project pulls in monks, teachers, and visitors from every corner of the globe. Officials created the Hatisar post to handle the heavy cross-border traffic during the event.
